Title:
Poetry Immersion
Description:
1. Divide the class into 4 groups: lyrical, free verse, humorous, and narrative. Each group will research to define the characteristics of each type and find examples fro each type.
2. Jigsaw back to their group to share what they have learned.
3. Develop a product electronically (prezi, animoto, stupeflix, glogster, etc.)
4. Post on a blog, Edmodo, or Wikispaces.
5. Have students respond and reflect on each other learning.

Guided Practice: Have a collection of poem for the students to sort based on the characteristics of the poem in groups.
Independent Practice/Assessment: Give 5 poems to students and they will identity the type based on the characteristics.
